Awarded annually in Portugal, the PME Líder status recognises small and medium-sized enterprises that demonstrate outstanding economic performance, financial stability, and a strong commitment to competitiveness. With more than 25 years of experience in footwear manufacturing, Leira has built a reputation for combining traditional craftsmanship with modern technology. Based in Felgueiras — one of Europe’s most important footwear production clusters — the company exports more than 95% of its production to international markets.

Leira specialises in the production of private label footwear, working closely with brands and retailers worldwide to transform design concepts into high-quality finished products. With a production capacity of around 700 pairs per day, the company offers several construction techniques, including Strobel, sachetto, espadrille, and cemented constructions, ensuring flexibility and precision for each project.
Beyond footwear, Leira has recently expanded its expertise into premium leather accessories, including handbags, wallets, belts, and leather covers. This step reinforces the company’s commitment to innovation and diversification while maintaining the same standards of quality and craftsmanship that define its footwear production.
